The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) addresses the lack of official data on cycling infrastructure in Europe by utilizing OpenStreetMap to extract information for the Quantifying Europe’s Cycling Infrastructure Using OpenStreetMap (QECIO) dashboard. This resource details the length of six cycling infrastructure types across 37 European countries and 1502 regions. It includes data on infrastructure specifics and parameters like contraflow cycling availability, categorizing infrastructure into cycle tracks, lanes, and more. By comparing cycling infrastructure length with public road networks, the dashboard offers insights into the network's completeness, supporting the identification of data errors and promoting safer, more direct cycling routes.
