Description
In an urban space dominated by motorized uses (Paris gives 51% of its urban space to motorized modes for only 13% of total trips), pedestrians are all too often on the margins of urban planning policies, even though walking is the primary mode of travel in Paris and in the city centers of major cities. Questioning the needs and desires of pedestrians is a first step in the reallocation of public spaces in order to give space back to pedestrians.
Through a field exercise in different locations, learn to observe the multiple problems encountered by pedestrians during their travels. An analysis tool will be made available to you to think in pairs about the needs and desires of pedestrians.
Meeting point at 14:30h CET at the entrance of Pavilion 6.
Please note: First, we'll walk around for 30mins (Walkshop), then, from 15:00h to 16:00h, we'll be in Workshop-room "C" to discuss.
