Patrick AYAD

Patrick Ayad leads the global sector group Mobility and Transportation at Hogan Lovells, heads Hogan Lovells global Strategic Operations, Agreements and Regulation (SOAR) practice area and is also the firm's Global Managing Partner Sectors. He is a global leading practitioner in the areas of international contract drafting, procurement and distribution law, as well as an experienced regulatory advisor. With more than 20 years of experience, Patrick brings considerable knowledge on both commercial and regulatory matters in all areas relating to the future of mobility, including Automotive, Transport and Logistics as well as Aerospace and Defense. Patrick has advised automotive manufacturers and major suppliers as well as new entrants to the mobility market across the globe on a broad range of legal issues. The fast developing field of autonomous, connected, electric and shared vehicles is a current focus of his work. He is highly recognized in his field by reputable directories such as Chambers, JUVE and Legal 500, according to which Patrick has an ""excellent reputation in the automotive industry."

Stefan CARSTEN

Dr Stefan Carsten is a futurist and urban geographer. He was a project manager at Daimler AG Research & Technology, where he designed new mobility services such as car2go and moovel. He is currently on the advisory board of the Federal Ministry of Transport for "Strategic Guidelines for Public Transport in Germany", the IAA Mobility in Munich and the Reallabor Radbahn in Berlin, among others. Since 2019, he has published the Mobility Report in cooperation with the Zukunftsinstitut. He is the curator of the Autonomy Berlin City Summit and the Future Forum of the Bus2Bus. He works with various players in the mobility ecosystem: with the bicycle industry, public transport companies, the automotive industry as well as cities and municipalities. He is married, has two children and lives and works in Berlin.

Karen VANCLUYSEN

Karen Vancluysen was appointed as Secretary General of POLIS in September 2014, after having been the network's Research Director for 8 years. Prior to that, she worked as network manager at ACCESS-Eurocities and as project manager at Langzaam Verkeer, a Belgian centre for mobility management. Since 1998, Karen has been involved in European urban transport networking and policy activities, and EU research and innovation projects covering a wide range of urban mobility topics. She has been a speaker and moderator at many high-level events in Europe and beyond, on a wide range of urban mobility themes approached from the perspective of cities and the governance of innovation. POLIS is the leading European network of cities and regions on urban transport innovation. For over 30 years already, members have been working together to develop and deploy sustainable and innovative urban mobility solutions for the city of today and tomorrow.
